Dec. 2008: CESAB Obtained the AEO Certification

In December 2008 during an official ceremony by the Industrials Association headquarter, the Custom Director, Mr Ciardiello, delivered to CESAB SpA the “Authorized Economic Operator – AEO” certificate. Great emphasis has been given to this event because CESAB is one of the first companies in Italy being certificated in conformity with AEO rules. The World Custom Organization has published a set of rules for supply chains which should contribute to a greater level of security in trade and introduce thorough border inspections for exported and imported goods. The European Union introduced the so called AEO certification: companies that are able to ensure and verify that their business transactions are transparent and safe will be able to obtain the new AEO certificate. Shipments from companies with AEO status will receive priority customs clearance and, if such shipments are selected for a more comprehensive customs inspection, they will be given priority over shipments from companies without the AEO certification.
